Welcome!
Hello, my name is Simone and this is my website.
I am a research associate in the Computational Chemistry and Biophysics group of Professor Martin Karplus at Harvard University. In the past I have been affiliated with the Università degli Studi di Milano in Italy, and the Institut de Science et d’Ingénierie Supramoléculaires in Strasbourg, France. More details on my curriculum.
My research is focused on computer modeling of molecular systems. I have worked on molecular self-assembly and protein-protein interactions. Currently, I study how to design vaccines for highly mutable viruses, like HIV and Influenza. You can read some details about my research projects or look at my pubblications.
In my free time I collect minerals, in particular fluorescent ones. I wrote MineralApp, an application to catalog my collection (freely available to anyone). I am currently member of the Boston Mineral Club and the Fluorescent Mineral Society.
I like Juggling. I find interesting the siteswaps notation.
Feel free to contact me if you have any question!
