When adding specimens to my collection I always like to keep track of their history. I believe a mineral specimen becomes way more interesting and “special” when a story is associated to it. Unfortunately, it is often hard to get the history of a specimen passed on from dealer to buyer. Luckily, old labels from previous owners are often kept with the specimen and can be used to reconstruct at least some of the history.
This is a label archive. I am adding here all labels I have, sorted by owners. A lot of these do not have a owner. They are “unknown” without a name attached to it. Perhaps, you may recognized an “unknown” label from your collection from the samples here, or you may know the owner of an “unknown” from here!
