Quartz is rarely fluorescent, quartz from La Sassa in Tuscany (Italy) is one of the most notable exceptions. This sample has an “eye” with a stronger, more deep color and is covered by tiny fluorescent crystals (the magenta speckles in the macro images are artifact from the camera sensor).
