Grossular

Nov 25, 2024 | Fluorescent Minerals by Species

Grossular garnet is not often fluorescent. Only a few localities come to my mind: the Sierra de Cruces in Coahuila, Mexico, the Stifle claims, California, USA, and the Jeffrey Mine, in Québec, Canada.

SC325 – Grossular Garnet from Sierra de Cruces, Coahuila, Mexico

Fluorescence under 405nm blue laser (with blue-blocking filter).
Normal light.
