Scheelite is one of the minerals with intrinsic fluorescence: the tungstate group in scheelite, WO42- is always fluorescent. That is, unless there is a quencher, dimming the response. The fluorescence is typically bright blue under shortwave UV light. Sometimes, scheelite can also fluoresce orange/red under mid or long wave UV. This is typically due to rare earth elements (REE) impurities.
