SC1296 – Zircon and Albite from Amboasary Sud District, Madagascar

Elongated zircon crystals in a pegmatite matrix containing albite, wollastonite, green diopside (?), monazite (?), and other unidentified minerals. Under shortwave UV light, the zircons fluoresce bright yellow, and the albite its typical dull red, with plenty green uranyl salts. The wollastonite is not very prevalent, but visible in the top right corner as off-white fibrous masses, weakly fluorescent under UV light.
